Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Gone in 60 Seconds, Eaglemoss Die-Cast Club will launch a subscription program to build a high-quality die-cast metal 1:8 scale model of the movie’s popular car, Eleanor.
A global licensing agreement with Denice Shakarian Halicki, owner of Gone in 60 Seconds, Halicki Films and the “Eleanor” franchise, the model features the scene stealing Mustang from the 2000 movie. This latest addition to Eaglemoss Limited’s Die-Cast Club sees Eleanor join the DeLorean from Back to the Future, 007’s classic Aston Martin DB5, and the Cadillac Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters.
“I believe Eaglemoss Die-Cast Club’s meticulous attention to detail to Eleanor’s characteristics will be a thrill for fans of Eleanor and fun for everyone who enjoys and love cars… At a time when joy is a wonderful thing to have…” Halicki said.
For the first time, subscribers can build a 1:8 scale replica of the car as seen in the movie with every feature reproduced in detail. The completed model is 22.9 inches long and will include working headlights and tail lights, turning front wheels operated by the steering wheel, opening hood to reveal Eleanor’s phenomenal Ford small-block racing engine, opening trunk (which contains the car’s nitro tank), and Eleanor’s iconic Go Baby Go gearshift and NOS switch.
The car action movie starring Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Giovanni Ribisi, Christopher Eccleston, and Robert Duvall contained an epic car chase that lasted around 40 minutes, making it the longest in movie history.
Subscribers will receive regular monthly shipments of model parts, which will be accompanied by a magazine with building instructions, features on the movie, and the story behind the famous Mustang.
Eleanor will debut in the US in early 2021, with preorders starting in the fall of 2020. Additional details are available at diecastclub.com.
