eOne and Hasbro have tapped Bryan Edward Hill to write the next Power Rangers movie, which will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle.

Hill has written episodes and is an executive story editor on the DC TV series Titans. He was a staff writer on episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead and has written for multiple comics, including Batman and the Outsiders.

Hill reacted to the news on social media, tweeting, “I’m incredibly excited about this. I loved Jonathan’s work before I came aboard this, and when I heard his ideas I immediately got stoked.”

Power Rangers, based on the Japanese tokusatsu Super Sentai franchise, was introduced in the US in 1993 with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show. Since then, new series in the franchise have steadily aired and three movies have been released.

This news comes just a week after it was announced that Entwistle will helm a connected universe that will link future Power Rangers TV shows and movies.
