Universal Studios Japan announced the grand opening of a Nintendo theme park on February 4, 2021. Super Nintendo World is a $580 million venture built on the original Universal Studios Japan that will have rides, shops, and walk-through spaces.

Universal Studios Japan announced that the grand opening will feature three experiences. One, titled Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge, is expected to be like a real version of Mario Kart with courses from the game that give fans the chance to race to victory. Another ride is Yoshi’s Adventure, featuring a trip through Yoshi’s Island. It will provide a view of the Mushroom Kingdom as riders hunt for three mysterious eggs.

For the third experience, visitors can get power-up bands that allow them to participate in challenges and collect virtual coins and other items. By using the bands, visitors get to play interactive games around the park, which includes helping Peach recover the Golden Mushroom and a final fight with Bowser Jr.

An Area Timed Entry Ticket or Area Times Entry Ticket: Advanced Booking for the Super Nintendo World can be purchased through the Universal Studios Japan app.
