The Flash is getting an ice cold character for season seven. The CW has hired Shadowhunters star Jon Cor to play villain Mark Stevens, aka Chillblaine.

The official character description reads, “Mark Stevens is a charismatic bad boy obsessed with cryogenic technology. But when he’s not breaking into corporate safes, he’s busy breaking hearts with his irresistible charm and roguish style. Armed with his own cold weapons, he’ll become a new thorn in the side of Team Flash as the DC Comics villain Chillblaine.”

Cor played Hodge Starkweather on Shadowhunters for two seasons. His other TV roles include Being Human, Supernatural, and Lost in Space and on film he was in Saw: The Final Chapter.

Team Flash will be facing more than Chillblaine in season seven. Showrunner Eric Wallace announced that Godspeed will also torment Barry Allen and his friends. Wallace previously stated plans to incorporate new as well as older villains so readers who are new to comics would see villains that have been introduced more recently.

The Flash will return to The CW on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
