Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment have created the five-issue limited series Skybound X. It will feature stories with Skybound favorites like Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead and Clementine from Telltale’s The Walking Dead. Creators Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Tillie Walden, Donny Cates, Joshua Williamson, Chip Zdarsky, James Harren, and Daniel Warren Johnson will tell stories from Skybound series of the past, present, and future.

Each oversized weekly issue will start with a chapter from “Rick Grimes 2000,” a story that began in The Walking Dead #75 and sees the reunion of the Invincible team of Kirkman and Ottley. New characters from new series will debut throughout the event. The first new comic character will be Clementine, star of the video game, Telltale’s The Walking Dead. It will also include new stories from Assassin Nation, Excellence, and Manifest Destiny.

“Surprise! Did you really think we would let Skybound’s 10-year anniversary pass us by without bringing back some of our favorite characters? We are forever thankful for our community’s support over the past decade and are honored to share this special series with the larger Skybound family. None of these characters have such monumental journeys without the fans, so Skybound X is for all of you,” Kirkman said.

Skybound X #1 will be in stores on July 7, 2021. In addition to the Rick Grimes and Clementine content mentioned above, it will include new Ultramega and Manifest Destiny stories.

The second issue, out on July 14, will debut a new Stillwater character, a Murder Falcon throwdown, and first appearance of Everyday Hero Machine Boy.

On July 21, issue 3 will contain a Birthright story, spotlight on Assassin Nation’s F*ck Tarkington, and a new installment of Science Dog.

Skybound #4 sees new Redneck and Excellence stories, along with the first appearance of Sea Serpent’s Heir – out on July 28.

The fifth issue closes the event on August 4 with The Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton and Gasolina stories and something new from Kirkman and Jason Howard.
