Marvel Studios presented a special teaser for Loki during the Marvel-themed NBA broadcast when the Golden State Warriors faced the New Orleans Pelicans. The short teaser for the upcoming Disney+ series focuses on Loki’s recruitment to help restore the timeline.

The series’ comical tone is established as Loki delightedly misbehaves while forced to work with the Time Variance Authority. In a nod to his role in The Avengers, Loki reiterates the popular line, “I am Loki and I am burdened with glorious purpose.” This line is accompanied by complaints about how he is “insubordinate, stubborn, unpredictable” by one officer and “really arrogant” by another.

Loki begins after Avengers: Endgame when Loki had escaped custody by using the Tesseract to teleport. But while he was able to evade capture by SHIELD and Asgardian justice, he was apprehended by the Time Variance Authority for his crimes against the timeline.

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Richard E. Grant. The series will debut on Disney+ on June 11, 2021.
