The new Justice Society of America defeated the Injustice Society in the season one finale of Stargirl, so what is a young superhero supposed to do with herself now? That’s the question posed in the extended trailer for Stargirl season two.

The trailer puts the focus on Courtney Whitmore’s desire to keep fighting the good fight – even when there aren’t any villains. Her teammates point out that she seems to be looking for trouble and pushing the rest of her life to the background. This would be a good time for villains like The Shade and Eclipso to show up, along with the reemergence of Cindy, aka Shiv.

The trailer also introduces Green Lantern Alan Scott’s daughter Jade. It’s reasonable to assume that she’ll be on the side of the heroes, however, her first scene in the trailer is a fight with Stargirl.

The series stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney/Stargirl, Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan/S.T.R.I.P.E., Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez/Wildcat, Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite, Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler/Hourman, Amy Smart as Barbara Whitmore, and Trae Romano as Mike Dugan. This season introduces Ysa Penarejo as Jade, Nick Tarabay as Eclipso, Jonathan Cake as The Shade, and Jim Gaffigan as Thunderbolt.

Stargirl season two premieres on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, on The CW.
