Stan Lee has been immortalized on film with many cameos in Marvel movies. Now, he’ll also be recognized with a street name in his hometown of the Bronx.

On June 10, 2021, the Bronx Councilman Ferando Cabrera presided over the street renaming of Stan Lee Way at University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street. The event was also attended by Al Pizaro, the co-founder of Hip Hop Boulevard, and Ray Felix, the founder of Bronx Heroes Comic Con.

Lee was born in Manhattan then grew up in the Bronx where he attended DeWitt Clinton High School. Many of the characters he helped to create at Marvel make their homes in New York City.
