Horror’s most sadistic serial killing doll is back and he wants to play with a new generation. During Comic-Con@Home, SyFy and USA released the first full trailer for the upcoming TV series, Chucky.
The trailer introduces Jake, a teenager navigating the jungles of high school who finds an old Good Guy doll and – being a fan of “retro” – brings Chucky home. As Chucky did with Andy back in the late ‘80s, he lets Jake know that he is alive. But, is Chucky planning to takeover Jake’s body as he has in the past, is he just looking for mayhem, or is he grooming the young man to be his human protégé?
The series will see the return of franchise stars Brad Dourif voicing Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, Alex Vincent at Andy Barclay, Fiona Dourif as Nica, and Christine Elise as Kyle. None of the returning cast (save for Dourif) were featured in the trailer. Fiona Dourif, Vincent, Tilly, and Elise all starred in the most recent Child’s Play movie, Cult of Chucky, in which Chucky found a way to possess other Good Guy dolls, as well as the human Nica.
Chucky will have a ten-episode first season, which begins on October 12, 2021. It was created by original Child’s Play creator Don Mancini. The cast also includes Zackary Arthur as Jake Webber, Devon Sawa as Lucas and Logan, and Lexa Doig as Bree Webber.
