Doctor Who used their Comic-Con@Home panel to drop the first trailer for the next season of the long-running sci-fi show. The series will return for its 13th season of the modern era, picking up after the “Revolution of the Daleks.”
Clocking in at just under 45 seconds, the trailer promises that “The Doctor returns for her biggest adventure yet.” It shows new companion Dan, who was briefly introduced at the end of the most recent holiday special and teases a guest spot with Jacob Anderson, who portrayed Grey Worm in Game of Thrones. The trailer also previews the continued tension between Yas and the Doctor with the former accusing the Doctor of hiding something.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this season will break from the usual Doctor Who format by telling a singular story. It will also be a shorter run with just eight episodes.
Jodie Whittaker is back for her third season as the Doctor, joined by Mandip Gill as Yas, and bringing in John Bishop as new companion Dan. The series is set to return later in 2021.
