Reunion is the theme of the final trailer for Halloween Kills, which doesn’t bode well for the people who survived Michael Myers in 1978.

With the familiar piano notes playing, the trailer opens with grown up Lindsay Wallace asking a few kids if they are alone only to find out that they are playing hide and seek with a mysterious man in a mask. After he attacks former Nurse Chambers, the sheriff tells Laurie and her family that Michael survived the fire. As Michael kills his way to his old house, Laurie, Karen, and Allyson decide to face him head-on, rather than trying to find safety.

Along with teasing the brutality in the new movie, the trailer is full of Halloween series easter eggs. They include Lindsay using the same line Laurie did when telling the kids to run, Michael breaking the window next to Nurse Chambers like he did in the first movie, masks from Halloween 3 can be seen on the merry-go-round, and a kid is wearing the clown costume.

Halloween Kills sees the return of the 2018 cast of Jamie Lee Curtis, James Jude Courtney, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, and Nick Castle, with David Gordon Green directing. It also brings back stars from the original movie, including Kyle Richards as Lindsey, Nancy Stephens as Marion, and Charles Cyphers as Leigh Brackett. Anthony Michael Hall is stepping in as the grown up Tommy Doyle.

It’ll be in theaters and streaming on Peacock on October 15, 2021.
