One-half of Firestorm will heat things up in The Flash. Robbie Amell, who played Ronnie Raymond early in The Flash is heading back to Central City for a guest appearance.

Amell will appear in two episodes of The Flash season eight, starting with episode 11. The situation he’s stepping into, or how Ronnie will return hasn’t been revealed.

Ronnie was introduced in the first season of The Flash as Caitlin Snow’s fiancé and fellow STAR Labs employee. He disappeared when the particle accelerator exploded, then Ronnie reappeared fused to Martin Stein to create Firestorm. He and Caitlin got married, though the reunion was brief, and he died saving Central City in the first season finale. Since then, he did a guest spot in the third season.

Amell’s return follows Arrowverse guest spots by the other two Firestorm actors, Victor Garber and Franz Drameh, who recently appeared on Legends of Tomorrow’s 100th episode. He’s also the second former recurring Flash star scheduled to appear on the show. Rick Cosnett who played Iris’ fiancé Eddie Thawne in the first season will do a flashback episode.

The Flash is currently airing the five-part “Armageddon” storyline. After that arc ends on December 14, 2021, the show will go on hiatus until March 9, 2022. The date for Amell’s episodes have not been announced yet.
