John Carter of Mars returns in April 2022, and this time he needs to save not one, but two worlds. The series is written by Chuck Brown (Bitter Root) with art by George Kambadais (Firefly).

In 1919 an asteroid made of “Ninth” is heading toward Earth, and in the process, its power starts melding and swapping the people of Earth and Mars. John Carter, the former Civil War soldier and warlord of Mars, finds his worlds colliding as he’s back in Virginia, but fighting Martian apes. As this is unfolding, what could be happening on Barsoom and as these worlds deal with the chaos, will their problems collide?

“I’ve always been a huge fan of sci-fi and adventure,” Brown said. “Like many of us, as a kid I was obsessed with Mars and the other planets in our solar system. Barsoom has such amazing characters and backstories. So, it’s a huge opportunity for George and I to play in this world.”

The new series features covers by Kambadais, Junggeun Yoon, Jonathan Case, a cosplay cover, and one by Dejah Thoris artist Joseph Michael Linsner.

John Carter of Mars #1 is solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ February 2022 PREVIEWS catalog. It’ll be in comic shops in April 2022.
