Exes reunite, the villain is revealed, and Thor has an embarrassing moment in the latest trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder. Marvel Studios released the new trailer on May 23, 2022, providing the most detail we’ve seen thus far.
The trailer opens with Thor’s buddy Korg (Taika Waititi) telling the story of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) the “space Viking,” how he saved Earth, and how he got back in shape, going from “dad bod to god bod.” Thor’s life is back on track – heroically winning battles on other worlds – until his ex-girlfriend appears with the power of Thor.
Thor’s reaction to Jane (Natalie Portman) is quite comical at first, then there’s the awkward exes catching up conversation, and reignition of feelings. This trailer introduces Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and his vow that “all gods will die” and ends by debuting Russell Crowe as Zeus in a funny scene involving a powerful flick of the wrist, nudity, and grapes.
Thor: Love and Thunder will debut in theaters on July 8, 2022. Waititi is back at the helm as the writer and director, bringing the more comedic tone of Thor: Ragnarok. Love and Thunder also stars Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, and Jaimie Alexander.
