Doom Patrol and Titans, the TV series that originated on the DC Universe streaming service, are both ending. Each show will come to a conclusion with their current fourth seasons that are now airing on HBO Max.

The cancellation of the two series doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the shakeups and changes with DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Discovery, and HBO Max. New DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran are in the midst of building a new DC Extended Universe of films and TV series. Titans began airing season four on HBO Max in November 2022, then Doom Patrol season four followed in December 2022.

In 2017, Titans became the first show ordered for DC Universe, then a year later Doom Patrol was greenlit with a straight to series order. After the second season of Titans and the first season of Doom Patrol, both shows moved to HBO Max, the new streamer that would handle Warner Bros.’s DC content.

“I’m immensely proud of our gifted cast, crew and writing staff and their efforts in bringing to life all 49 episodes over the last five-plus years,” Titans Executive Producer Greg Walker said. “I couldn’t have asked for better partners in Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, and HBO Max, and from the beginning, Geoff Johns and Akiva Goldsman. I’m incredibly grateful for their unyielding trust throughout this process. Lastly, I have to thank our incredible fans for their continued support, engagement, and the passionate community they’ve built around our show. We have six episodes left to unleash upon the world that we hope will give our beloved characters the creative closure we all know they deserve.”

“To our wonderfully supportive partners at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, and DC Studios, thank you for indulging us these past four seasons,” Doom Patrol showrunner Jeremy Carver said. “Also, what were you smoking? To our brilliant cast, indomitable crew, fearless writing staff and, most of all, to our beautiful fans: thank you all the more. You made this a once in a lifetime ride.”
