Baltimore Comic-Con will return to the Baltimore Convention Center on September 8-10, 2023. The 24th annual event has added comic creators Jo Chen, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Trevor Mueller, Tom Raney, Afua Richardson, and Stuart Sayger to the guest list.

Chen is a comic artist who has been working professionally since she was 18 years old. Her art has been seen in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Runaways, Thor: Son of Asgard, New Avengers, Racer X, and Robotech. She has produced interiors and covers for the adult manga In These Words, going by the pen name TogaQ. She has also produced covers for Hellboy, Firefly/Serenity, Star Wars: Invasion, Robin, Superman Stranded, and Battle of the Planets.

Johnson started his career in 2015 on Last Sons of America and Warlords of Appalachia. That was followed by writing Aquaman, Captain America, Batman, Marvel Zombies: Resurrection, Extreme Carnage, his creator-owned series The Last God, Superman, and Action Comics.

Mueller’s writing credits include the multi-Harvey Award nominated Albert the Alien. He has contributed stories to anthologies like Reading With Pictures, Killer Queen, What Fresh Hell Is This, Best of Omega Comics Presents, and Aw Yeah Comics. His self-published works include Consumer, Beyond the Pillars, and The Witches of E Wick Blvd, and his latest project is the Webtoon Original series, Nexus Point.

Raney has contributed to Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, Valiant’s relaunched titles, and Dark Horse’s Star Wars among many others. His art is also seen in Threshold, Incredible Hulk, Titan’s Monster Massacre hardcover collection, and a year-long run on Green Lantern.

Richardson is known for her work on Marvel’s Black Panther: World of Wakanda, along with work on The Wild Storm, Attack on Titan, X-Men '92, Captain Marvel, and All-Star Batman. She is also a musician, voice actor, activist, and recipient of the Nina Simone award.

Sayger broke into comics by creating and producing Shiver in the Dark. His art has appeared on the covers of G.I. Joe, Dejah Thoris, Jeepers Creepers, Vampirella, KISS, and Bloodshot. He has also provided art for The Walking Dead, X-Files, 30 Days of Night, Xena Warrior Princess, Micronauts, and Rom.

“It is fantastic to have these creators back with us,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “They have a tremendous collective body of work, having created works lauded by critics, recognized by comics awards, and beloved by their fanbases. We can’t wait to see them again, and we know their fans agree!”
