eMoviePoster’s 20th Annual Halloween Auction has concluded with over $183,000 in total sales and lots of individual record prices.

Part I with 248 linen-backed and oversized items reached $77,459. Part II, which was filled with 300 lobby cards, folded one-sheets and more, brought $55,884. Part III with 269 half-sheets, inserts, one-sheets, and non-U.S. posters, ended at $50,757.

Top sales were Ghost of Frankenstein linen-backed insert for $3,800, Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman insert for $4,300, Jaws insert for $2,013, King Kong 1956 rerelease half-sheet for $1,950, War of the Worlds 1965 rerelease linen-backed one-sheet for $3,457, Man from Planet X linen-backed style B half-sheet for $2,820, Frankenstein 1957 rerelease German A1 for $3,101, Day the Earth Stood Still title card for $1,940, and Star Wars style C international one-sheet for $1,400.

The prices show that collectors are willing to pay high prices for rare pieces and, according to eMoviePoster, their consignors provided many items that they’d either never auctioned or only auctioned once or twice before. eMoviePoster also noted that while posters from the 1920s to ’40s continue to be high sellers, the biggest price movement is in the favorites from the ’60s and ’70s like Jaws, Star Wars, Halloween, and many others.

eMoviePoster auctions have no reserves or buyer’s premiums and they use unenhanced super-sized images. They charge exact shipping cost and combine shipping from different auctions for their customers’ convenience.
