Plus, there are theatrical and promo posters from the prequels, standalone movies, and current trilogy up for grabs.
Of the 520 posters in the auction, 296 were consigned from a single collection. “It has been a true labor of love for me to collect Star Wars movie posters/paper over the past 38 years,” the consignor, who chose to remain anonymous, said. “When I saw the movie for the first time it captured my imagination like no other and started a fascination that will last the rest of my life. I certainly enjoyed playing with the original toys, but only wanted to collect original movie posters because of my general love of movies.”
He also recounted his time spent exploring old movie theaters and searching newspaper classifies, and movie warehouse catalogs to find posters. “I was self-taught with researching all the different styles and sizes available, so whenever I would come across a new poster it was very exciting,” he said.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed researching, collecting, and reminiscing with these posters over the past several decades and am now ready to pass them on for others to enjoy. I hope they fill in many frustrating gaps in other collections,” he added.
Building on this collection, eMoviePoster began accepting consignments of rare and desirable Star Wars material to create the all Star Wars portion of their December Major Auction. These items are open for bids now through December 15 at eMoviePoster.com.
