ComicLink has reported two recent record-setting sales in grade for Amazing Spider-Man #14. On September 22, 2020, a copy graded CGC 9.0 sold on ComicLink’s Exchange for $9,500 and a copy graded CGC 8.5 sold in the September Focused Auction for $7,600.

This is in addition to a record set in last month’s ComicLink Featured Auction when an Amazing Spider-Man #14 CGC 9.4 sold for a record $18,750. The issue contains the 1964 first appearance of the Green Goblin as well as Spider-Man’s first encounter with the Hulk.

“Two decades into the CGC era, collectors are used to seeing eye popping prices realized for key post-1963 Silver Age Marvels in pristine 9.4 and higher grades, but it speaks to the strength of today’s vintage comic book collecting hobby to see such impressive prices being paid for more readily available 9.0 and 8.5 examples of Amazing Spider-Man #14,” ComicLink founder and Managing Director Josh Nathanson said. “The price realized for the #14 CGC 8.5 this week at auction is 50% higher than two other sales this year, including one just last month, and almost triple what the book was selling at in that grade just three years ago. There’s no doubt the market for vintage comic books is stronger than ever and it’s a great time to consider selling your valuable comic books on ComicLink.”

ComicLink is now accepting seller consignments for their Focused Auction launching soon on October 9 and the Fall Featured Auction which starts on November 12. These are the final two ComicLink auctions of 2020. Consignors can receive an upfront, interest free cash advance upon receipt of consignments.
