The major Silver Age key Amazing Spider-Man CGC 9.8 has been added to ComicLink’s Fall Featured Auction preview. This is the highest graded and one of only two examples of Doctor Octopus’ first appearance ever graded at 9.8 by CGC.
“Since almost the beginning, Doctor Octopus has been considered one of Spider-Man’s two most important villains along with the Green Goblin. Over the almost 60-year rivalry of Spidey and Doc Ock, we’ve seen Otto Octavius come back time and again, along the way causing the death of Captain Stacy, almost getting married to Aunt May and a few years ago, taking over Peter’s body and becoming the Superior Spider-Man for more than a year’s worth of comic book stories,” ComicLink founder and Managing Director, Josh Nathanson said. “Ock’s live-action portrayal by Albert Molina in Spider-Man 2 remains a highlight of all of the Spider-Man films and there is little doubt that we’ll see Octopus as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the years to come.”
