ComicLink has added a significant piece of original art to their upcoming Fall Featured Auction Preview: the Todd McFarlane cover to Amazing Spider-Man #299.

“The cover is significant for multiple reasons. It’s one of only three covers McFarlane drew for his historic run on Amazing Spider-Man which featured Spider-Man wearing his fan-favorite black costume. It’s also the cover to a key issue that introduced in its final pages one of Marvel’s most popular characters, Venom. Finally, this cover is also just the second McFarlane cover in his ASM run, which has gone down in comic book history as the most successful period ever for the Spider-Man character! Collectors will really need to fight it out on this one,” ComicLink founder and Managing Director Josh Nathanson said.

Over 30 years after this cover was published, Venom’s popularity continues to grow in comics and through the Venom movie starring Tom Hardy. A second movie is in the works, which will feature Woody Harrelson as Carnage.

The McFarlane cover is one of many new highlights which have been added to the original art session of the ComicLink Fall Featured Auction preview. There is still time to sell art within this major auction launching on November 17, 2020. The firm is seeking exceptional examples to promote alongside the highlights below.
