ComicConnect’s upcoming Event Auction, closing June 21-25, 2021, features comics, original art, pulps, and video games. Among the auction’s highlights are some of the biggest keys from the Silver Age, including first appearances and key moments at Marvel and DC.

“Many investment collectors start their journeys in the comfortable confines of the Silver Age,” ComicConnect COO Vincent Zurzolo said. “Afterall, most of the titles and characters from the time are household names today plus mega-corporations own the lot of them, so we’ll get to enjoy their stories and continuing rising valuations for generations to come. Investment collectors buy what they know and love, and there’s so many beloved characters from the era – you can’t go wrong.”

Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and the Marvel Bullpen forever changed comics with their new standard of raw storytelling. Their remarkable ability to create personal and endearing characters, like the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and the Incredible Hulk, allowed Marvel to gain a foothold, then, dominance of the comic book industry while churning out classic issue after classic issue. Their counterparts at DC chugged along with their tried and true formula, keeping their loyal fanbase entertained while adding a variety of new heroes and villains.
