Influential European comic artists Albert Uderzo and Hergé are among the top talents represented in Heritage’s International Original Art & Anime Auction on October 1-3, 2021.

Albert Uderzo’s Astérix, La Rose et le Glaive #29 page 38 features Asterix the Gaul, the humorous character he created in 1959. The art shows Asterix, along with Dogmatix, Panoramix, the Gaul villagers, and a poor Roman.

Hergé’s (Georges Remi dit) The Adventures of Tintin, Flight 714 to Sydney #22 page 15 double-sided preliminary is a rare preliminary original and is signed by the artist. Originally printed in Journal Tintin magazine in 1967-1968, the page comes from one of the science fiction theme-based albums. It notably shows the last confrontation between Tintin and Rastapopoulos, and features a final image of a cowboy that is suggested to be the artist’s self-portrait.
