Pedigree Comics has received an Amazing Spider-Man consignment featuring a run of the title from its first 25 years, according to Pedigree CEO and President Doug Schmell. They are listed in the upcoming February Grand Auction, which starts on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, and lasts for two weeks until Wednesday, February 15 on the Pedigree Comics website.

There is no buyer’s premium on any of the lots in the auction and every Amazing Spider-Man book will be listed with no reserve. Every book is CGC-graded and the minimum bid is $20 for this auction. Over 300 books can be viewed in the Auction Preview on Pedigree’s website under the auction banner.

The Amazing Spider-Man consignment comes from a collection out of the Philadelphia, PA area and consists of a complete run of Amazing Spider-Man #1-297, plus Amazing Spider-Man Annuals and the Giant-Size Spider-Man issues. Most of the books in the consignment are CGC 5.0 to 9.8 with only a few early issues in lower grades.

Highlights are Amazing Spider-Man #1 2.0, #14 4.5, #25 7.0, #27 7.5, #33 8.5, #34 8.5, #39 7.5, #48 8.0, #57 8.0, #61 8.5, #73 8.0, #100 8.5, #110 9.2, #120 9.2, #122 8.0, #129 9.0, #133 9.2, #160 9.6, #165 9.6, #177 9.6, #179 9.6, #180 9.6, #181 9.6, #194 9.6, #203 9.6, #217 9.8, #218 9.8, and #228 9.8, Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 4.5, and Giant-Size Spider-Man #2 9.2.

The consignor started reading comics at an early age, and the first comic he purchased was Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #11 in 1956 when he was 6 years old. That started his appreciation for Superman and Batman comics and then his father started bringing home Dell, Harvey, and Gold Key books from his grandmother’s corner store. He got into Marvel as a preteen, with his first Amazing Spider-Man issue being #3. Years later as an adult, he became more serious about collecting Spider-Man, putting together the run of issues 1-297.

Updates will be posted in the Latest News section of Pedigree’s website over the next few days. Pedigree Comics will continue to accept consignments for the auction until Wednesday, February 1 at 12 AM.
