The Venom black cover variant, Total Justice cover art based on the Kenner toys, and a complete Odyssey 2 game system are highlights in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, June 4-6, 2023, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction ends on Tuesday, June 6, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction closes on Wednesday, June 7.

The comic auction is led by Venom: Lethal Protector #1 CGC 9.6 black cover variant, which is the character’s first solo series and has a printing error that led to a few hundred copies printed with a black background instead of the intended red foil. The Golden Age key Batman #11 CGC 3.5 has a classic cover by Fred Ray that features Batman and Robin fighting the Joker over a background of playing cards.

In the original art auction, Heritage is offering Ramon Bernado and Dick Giordano’s Total Justice #1 cover that was made for the Kenner Total Justice toy line, showing Batman, Robin, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman. John Cassaday’s Astonishing X-Men #14 story page 11 original art sees an intimate moment between X-Men leaders Cyclops and Emma Frost.

Heritage has a desirable rarity in the video game auction with the Odyssey 2 group lot of a complete in box console and games for the 1978 video game system. A quirky collecting option is Donkey Kong Hockey VGA 80 sealed for the Nintendo Game & Watch system in which Donkey Kong and Mario duke it out on the ice.
