ComicConnect’s Event Auction #54 closes next week on June 5-9, 2023, featuring many keys from the Bronze, Copper, and Modern Ages.

“Many of the most-watched TV and movie comic book heroes made their first appearances in the ‘70s, ‘80s, and even ‘90s, when creators went a little darker,” ComicConnect President Vincent Zurzolo said. “Wolverine, Punisher, Swamp Thing, Man-Thing, Blade, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Raven, and the Werewolf by Night all made their debuts during this darkly innovative period.”

ComicConnect’s Event Auction #54 includes ten copies of Wolverine’s debut in Incredible Hulk #181, with a pair of 9.6 copies leading the pack, down to a copy missing the front cover. Another desirable Bronze Age key is Giant-Size X-Men #1 with the debuts of Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus, and Wolverine’s second full appearance. They also have eight copies of Amazing Spider-Man #129 in their Marvel Bronze Age listings. On the DC side, ComicConnect has Swamp Thing’s first appearance in House of Secrets #92 and a copy of Swamp Thing #1 9.4.

Moving into the Copper Age, the auction contains Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 with the team’s debut, one of the highest graded copies of New Mutants #98 9.9 with the first appearance of Deadpool, and Daredevil #168 9.8, featuring Elektra’s debut.

Modern highlights include a Stan Lee signed variant copy of Ultimate Fallout #4 9.8, a mint copy of Venom: Lethal Protector #1, a group of high grade Wizard magazines, Mouse Guard #1 9.8, The Boys #1 9.8, Batman Adventures #12 9.6, and X-Men Alpha #1 9.8 Stan Lee Signature Series featuring the first appearance of the Dark Beast.

“I strive to offer the very best selection every Event Auction,” Zurzolo said. “With outstanding keys from every comic age, I am positive bidders will find something for their collection.”
