Quantcast

DC Comics has established some wild, violent characters throughout the company’s impressive tenure. One of the craziest rage-filled baddies goes by the name Lobo. Created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, Lobo stomped onto the scene in Omega Men #3 (June 1983).

Lobo is quite formidable, possessing super-strength, superhuman endurance, and the ability to jump very far. He is quite large, standing over 7 feet tall, can track beings across galaxies, he can survive in space, replicate himself into clones, and is an incredible fighter.

Once he has chosen a victim, that person is not likely to escape. He has an incredible talent for determining what his opponents’ weaknesses are to exploit them. The only way to defeat Lobo is to vaporize every part of him, which – of course – is nearly impossible.

Lobo enjoys destroying things, regardless of whether or not he gets compensated for it. Even when he is not on a job he picks fights, bounding through the galaxy like the leader of a vicious biker gang on his intergalacticycle, the Hog.

Lobo is the only survivor from the planet Czarnia, which was once a paradise. From the moment he was born, Lobo was a bad guy. He attacked the midwife at his birth and chased the doctors with scalpels, then during his childhood he killed all of his caretakers.

As an adult he committed genocide and became a mercenary. He found Earth after helping Omega Man vanquish the Spider Guild. Once he discovered our planet, he challenged Superman, Warrior, and the Justice League of America to fights to prove himself the strongest. He worked with L.E.G.I.O.N., an interstellar police force for a while, as well as the offshoot R.E.B.E.L.S.
