Horror manga creator Junji Ito’s iconic work Uzumaki will be coming to Cartoon Network’s Toonami block in 2020, and the announcement was accompanied by a trailer. The series will be four episodes long, and is being produced in a partnership with Production IG USA.

Uzumaki is a horror series originally released by Ito from 1998 to 1999. It follows the events in the town of Kurozu-cho, which is seemingly cursed by various supernatural phenomena involving spirals. Teenagers Kirie and Shuichi witness how the spiral curse impacts the town’s residents, and attempt to escape the town.

The Uzumaki series will be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama, who previously directed The Flowers of Evil, Detroit Metal City and many others. Nagahama was just recently interviewed by Scoop at Otakon 2019.
