Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems will be back for a final season of the popular Cartoon Network series, now under a new name: Steven Universe Future. As announced at the 2019 New York Comic Con, the series will return to act as an epilogue to everything shown so far in both the original show and the film.

Steven Universe Future will also come with a new opening sequence, which now spotlights the entire extended Crystal Gems family and the new threats they’ll face. The song borrows from a tune from Steven Universe: The Movie, and the sequence shows all of the characters in their time-jump designs.

No premiere date was given, but Cartoon Network did reveal a tease of the season’s direction: “After saving the universe, Steven is still at it, tying up every loose end. But as he runs out of other people’s problems to solve, he’ll finally have to face his own.”
