The Overstreet Guide to Collecting Horror, part of Gemstone Publishing’s Overstreet line of “How To” reference books for new and experienced collectors alike, is our first guide devoted to a genre rather than a type of collectible.

The book is filled with content on movies, comics, literature, TV, video games, and soundtracks all within the horror genre. Collectibles in the book cover a broad scope of material with action figures, toys, movie posters, games, first editions and first appearances, art, statues, premiums, screen-used items, autographs, and more.

There are features on companies and series, such as Universal Monsters, The Walking Dead, EC Comics, Hammer Horror, Friday the 13th, Funko, and General Mills Monster Cereal, as well as topics like ’60s horror TV shows, Japanese horror, first edition books, giant monsters, sci-fi/horror, and out of print VHS tapes and DVDs.

It includes profiles on horror greats, such as Alfred Hitchcock, Stephen King, Vincent Price, and Wes Craven. There are insightful interviews with experienced collectors and interviews with horror actors Linnea Quigley and Sid Haig. Quigley, a beloved ’80s scream queen, even wrote the foreword for the book.

You can find The Overstreet Guide to Collecting Horror at better comic shops or on our website. The 232-page, full-color soft cover retails for $20.
