Bob Ross was a pop culture icon who entertained and educated viewers on The Joy of Painting and now fans can enjoy his artwork in a new somewhat surprising, but also perfectly logical way. The painter’s art will be featured on a set of Magic the Gathering cards.

Wizards of the Coast collaborated with the late artist’s estate on this special set, which will be part of the Magic Secret Lair drop. Titled “Happy Little Gathering,” the collection uses ten of Ross’ paintings, representing the five land types (forest, islands, mountains, plains, and swamps). Each land type will get two pieces of his art.

The Secret Lair set is Magic the Gathering’s set of limited edition printed-to-order cards featuring work by famous artists. It is branded as the “Secretversary Superdrop.”

The collection will be in both foil and non-foil. Additionally, the set comes with the Evolving Wilds card, inspired by Ross, which players can sacrifice and replace with another basic land. Another feature of the set is the TG Arena Redemption single use code for the Arena “Happy Little Gathering” themed sleeve. Later it may become available as a separate purchase.

Preorders began on November 30 and will run until December 14, 2020 on the Secret Lair website.
