As an inker, John Dell has worked for both DC and Marvel on titles like JLA, Young Avengers, and Amazing Spider-Man, among many other books. His career dates back to the 1980s. He has since utilized the aid of the Hero Initiative.
His health deteriorated over a few years, starting with progressive knee pain that extended to memory and speech issues. Unfortunately, he did not have health insurance. After fellow comic creators saw his condition at a convention, one reached out to Hero.
Now well on the mend, Dell recorded a video in which he describes the seriousness of his health issues and how Hero helped him get back on his feet – literally.
Hero is always seeking donations to continue helping comics industry professionals in medical and financial need. Donations can be made at heroinitiative.org.
