Titan Comics and Legendary Comics are expanding the Monsterverse with Return to Skull Island, a comic series set in Legendary’s Skull Island: The Animated Series. The first issue of the comic adaptation will arrive in June 2025.

The comic will follow a group of survivors who are stranded on a dangerous island in the South Pacific. While attempting to survive in the perilous landscape, they will uncover dark secrets and face giant monsters, including King Kong. The series is written by Simon Furman (Transformers), illustrated by Christopher Jones (Doctor Who: Once Upon a Time Lord), with a cover by Inhyuk Lee.

“Skull Island’s shadows hide untold stories, fierce battles, and creatures unlike anything seen before,” Titan Comics editor Louis Yamani said. “Marrying brilliant illustrations and epic storytelling, we see a new side to Kong and his kingdom. We can’t wait to share more this June!”

Return to Skull Island #1 will debut in comic shops on June 4.
