The term is over, and after a few weeks living as happy little spinsters, Esther and Daisy are ready to graduate (Susan’s got two more years in medical school before she gets to walk). It is, of course, hardly smooth sailing to receive that diploma, as Esther butts heads with her parents over her decision to both not come home for summer and to have gotten a tattoo. And though there’s plenty of waterworks, the three of them manage to get through the day and take the first step into the next phase of their lives.

This is the last issue of Giant Days, and I gotta admit – I’m a little heartbroken. I’ve loved this series since issue 1 and it’s pretty bittersweet to see it all come to an end. Though we’re getting a little epilogue with Giant Days: As Time Goes By later on, I don’t know that it’ll be enough. Giant Days was an incredible, relatable, comedic look at college life that had so many ups and downs throughout and a cast of characters that all stood out in their own way. I’ll miss this series a lot – and if for some reason you missed out on it during its run, look into picking up a trade paperback or two.
