Dynamite; $3.99
The Shape of Elvira comes to a close in this issue – and it is a wild one. Elvira and Gill have been tied up by their nefarious director and his lackeys with one pretty gross purpose. They want to make the love story between Elvira and Gill’s characters a real romance. Sounds fishy right?
This issue was a great closing chapter to the miniseries. The creative team deftly mocked a worn out horror movie trope in a really funny way and David Avallone squeezed in a few good zingers, giving Elvira some good lines and adding a few pop culture references. The art and colors by Pasquale Qualano and Walter Pereyra, respectively, are attractive and comical, giving the story flair and excitement.
It’s a fun read for Elvira fans and those who enjoy some monsters with their comedy.
