Fairy tales and fables teach kids plenty of good lessons about the world around them – about honesty, about kindness, and even about candy houses out in the woods. Unfortunately, apparently not everyone knows not to trust the cute little gingerbread house out in the forest, leading to Ansel getting captured by a pair of siblings looking to make him into their next project. Fortunately for him though, an unexpected ally arrives to help get him out of this mess.

Folklords has been a super fun read so far, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the miniseries shapes up. It’s been more than just a typical “modern take on fairy tale lore” story and instead is using existing folklore as a basis for a much bigger and better story. Regardless of who the folklords themselves actually end up being, the journey with Ansel has been delightful so far and I look forward to seeing what road he ends up taking next.
