Valentine’s Day is here, and for Napoleon and Pedro, they have to figure out their plans for the holiday, and fast. Napoleon’s got date plans with his girlfriend Deb, but Pedro just wants to ask out a cute girl from homeroom. But as things tend to go for these peculiar teenagers, their plans aren’t quite as well-laid as they would like to believe.
Napoleon Dynamite as a film really spoke to me as an awkward teen, and it’s cool to see these characters still living their best lives all these years later in comic format. This is a really sweet little book with a lot of understated, cute moments throughout. I really loved the simple but expressive art style used, as well. It’s the exact kind of sugary-sweet book you’ll want to read this Valentine’s Day.
