It’s been a while since writer B. Clay Moore’s Hawaiian Dick dove head-first into the comic book world with its unique setting and story, and it’s good to see Moore back in the crime comics arena. This time he’s teamed up with artist Stephen Molnar to bring us the seemingly complex and shadowy tale of Amara Bishop, a newly-single mother who has a dark, hidden past.

When her elderly mentor is murdered and her young daughter is targeted, all of that comes spilling out. Based on just this one issue, it seems like it’s going to be an incredible ride. It did what great comics are supposed to do; it left me wanting more.
