The Juggernaut has always been a bit of a tragic figure in Marvel comics. He is often controlled and manipulated, but in the new Juggernaut series, Cain Marko wants to take control of his own life. He doesn’t have a deeply meaningful direction yet, but he’s on a path that is his own.
The new Juggernaut by Fabian Nicieza with art by Ron Garney, and colors by Matt Milla is off to a solid start. Cain isn’t usually depicted as a complicated man, but the creative team give him morality and sensitivity to balance out his gigantic stature. This debut gives the impression that Juggernaut doesn’t have to be in huge battles to be both interesting and compelling.
