From the days when he and Mike Baron were creating indy comics heaven in the pages of Nexus, we’ve always known Steve Rude illustrated beautiful comics, but perhaps even we weren’t ready for just how well executed The Moth is.

Both Rude and writer-inker Gary Martin were at the top of their craft for this one. Their creation is a modern throwback to purer heroes, cleaner action and more direct adventure.

It’s both gripping and whimsical in its nature, a real dichotomy that stands up well againsts both lighter and grittier offerings.

The Moth - Voume 1 is an excellent read and well worth seeking out.
