Dark Horse Comics’ Creepy Archives and Eerie Archives have been revelatory for those who thought of Steve Ditko exclusively as a superhero artist. Now fans are going to get a powerful, succinct dose of Ditko’s horror artwork in Creepy Presents Steve Ditko, a 128-page hardcover that collects all of his work on the vintage titles in one volume.

What have Creepy fans known about Ditko that Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and other fans might not? First and foremost that Ditko should never be pigeonholed. He is a master visual storyteller who brilliantly operates in the realms of mood and suspense.

This book is as awe-inspiring as it is definitive.

Almost every story is written by Archie Goodwin so if you’re a fan of Archie’s (who isn’t?) then it adds a whole other level of quality to the collection. Ditko clearly rose to the level of Goodwin’s scripts, making this collection a must read.
