The mystery of Spy Island comes to a conclusion in this issue. Though the place has sand fleas equipped with listening devices, alien relics, and criminal masterminds, Nora has figured out what has been disrupting the mermaid habitats and who is responsible for removing dangerous objects from the unstable locale.

Like Chelsea Cain’s previous title, Maneaters, this book is so odd and so funny at the same time. Spy Island takes the Bermuda Triangle into offbeat territory, packing in legends about the area with weird characters and a meandering mystery laid out like a cartoon treasure map. It’s an enjoyable read if you want something different.
