The Power Rangers go a shade or two darker in issue 3 as the Omega Rangers battle a race of space vampires, known as the Horrid. Surrounded against very bad odds, Trini, Zack, Jason, and Xi must come up with a plan for ridding their ship of the homicidal unwanted guests. As they work on a plan, Lord Drakkon has chosen to pledge loyalty to the Horrid King and serve him the Rangers.

This was an action heavy issue that diverted from the main story but propelled it forward. The Rangers take on a scarier villain, which isn’t uncommon for the Omega team, and have their first conflict with Drakkon since they removed him from the Command Center. Ryan Parrott is writing an interesting comic and the detailed art by Francesco Mortarino with colors by Raúl Angulo is some of the best found at BOOM! Studios.
