Red Sonja, the bikini-clad warrior, is back in a new series of adventure and heroics. The first issue reintroduces Red Sonja by showing off her skills with a sword and sets her on a course with pirates, sea creatures, a princess, and an enchantment. All the makings of a solid swords and sorcery tale.

The new Invincible Red Sonja is written by the team of Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner, who made Harley Quinn a must read during their four-year run on the title in the 2010s. This series already shows the flair they put into their storytelling, the quick pacing, and witty dialogue. It’s a good start with the promise of all manner of complication on the horizon.
