Hannah is ready to set her trap for the Chimera, and the quartet of Vanessa, Manny, Jimmy-Boy, and Cara are happy to oblige. They are annoyed at her for bringing them unwanted attention and take it out on whomever they contact on their journey. Regan, the fifth and only repentant Chimera, tries to explain how they think and what they’ll do, but the vengeance seeking Hannah won’t listen.

Each issue of Basilisk has the dual purpose of revealing more about the Chimera, while ratcheting up the tension for the upcoming conflict. Cullen Bunn is writing very wicked characters and though we still know very little about them, each new revelation is downright disturbing. Regan has had a fairly passive role, despite the appearance of being very powerful, which begs the question of what she’ll do when faced with her “siblings.”
