Love Everlasting starts out like a traditional romance comic, the kind that once had a big chunk of the comic book market but which haven’t been seen in years. In fact, it not only starts like one, it begins like a really nicely executed one. Centered on Joan Peterson, the reader immediately can identify with her, her situation, and the setting.

Only things are not what they seem. Without going into specific spoilers, it’s soon an emotional roller coaster spiced with elements of Quantum Leap.

Writer Tom King and artist Elsa Charreteir have delivered an incredible, thought-provoking first issue that grabs the reader and won’t let go. I’m already looking forward to the next issue.
