20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse and its looking like Memorial Day weekend will be a blast.

The trailer dropped Monday, April 25, 2016. The beginning shows footage we’ve already seen – Apocalypse is an ancient mutant/god who always has four followers called the Four Horsemen. But then it blasts off into finding and training new X-Men to battle their formidable new foe.

The new trailer is a bit edgier, with more energy and less of a doom and gloom tone. The X-Men may be out gunned, but they are ready to unleash their powers to protect Earth. Oh, and there’s a shot of a series favorite nestled in there.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be released on May 27, 2016. It was directed by Bryan Singer, written by Simon Kinberg. The ensemble cast is led by James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
