As the release of Thor: Ragnarok rapidly approaches, a new synopsis confirms a clash between two major characters. Marvel teased fans during their annual panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego last summer, but now it’s official. Thor will be forced to go up against fellow Avenger, The Hulk – a character who has been missing in action since the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

While Thor is imprisoned across the universe, sans Mjolnir, he finds himself in a race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarok. At the hand of a powerful new threat, Hela, the destruction of Asgardian civilization seems imminent. To make matters worse, he must first survive a deadly gladiatorial contest against his former ally, the Incredible Hulk.

Hulk won't be the only major Marvel character to join Thor on the silver screen, Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange will also make an appearance. An addition which was teased during the closing credits stinger for Doctor Strange.

Director Taika Waititi has promised a different tone for this film, and likely has a few more surprises up his sleeve. Thor: Ragnarok is slated to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
