Marvel Television and Netflix have debuted new images for the upcoming miniseries, The Defenders. One of the new shots shows Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) talking with Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) - speculated to become the superhero Hellcat. Another depicts Iron Fist (Finn Jones) getting physical against a gas mask-wearing criminal. The third photo features Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious antagonist Alexandra - confirmed to be the miniseries' villain.

Via Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marco Ramirez discussed the dynamic between Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Jones’ Danny Rand and the cat-and-mouse game played by Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Ritter’s Jones. As well as, the nature of the crisis that brings these four heroes together.

“I can’t describe too much, but I can say that we knew it had to be something big. We knew it would take something massive to pull these four characters from their individual worlds to work together, but also small enough that it felt like it existed in our world. It needed to be a crisis that brought these people together, but it still needed to be a very street-level crisis. That’s the world we’re dealing with, so it couldn’t be anything too sci-fi or too supernatural or big. That’s the stuff of the movies,” Ramirez said.

Arriving this summer, the eight-episode series also stars Elodie Yung as Elektra, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse.
