There isn’t much known about FOX’s unnamed X-Men show, which makes news that Sentinels will be involved a welcome announcement. Lauren Shuler Donner, producer for the X-Men franchise, dropped the news about the FOX show, which will be led by Matt Nix.

“Matt [Nix]’s [X-Men-based show] is much more a part of just the world in terms of there are mutants, mutants are hated and there are Sentinels — though very different from what we’ve seen before,” said Shuler Donner.

The inclusion of the mutant-hunting Sentinel robots will likely bring plenty of suspense to the Marvel show. That also implies that the unnamed FOX X-Men show will follow the X-Men comic mythos.

Shuler Donner also shared that the unnamed show, as well as the upcoming series Legion, are part of the X-Men universe but are not set in the X-Men film universe.

“You feel like you’re here in the X-Men world. With Legion, we’re our own universe. It gives [showrunner] Noah [Hawley] the freedom to do what he wants to do. Because we play with so many different timelines, and we rebooted and not really rebooted and all that, we felt like, ‘OK, we’re going to throw it out there and hope the fans accept it.’”
